ˇ@ˇ@This town was called Meili Village, then changed to Hsinhsin Village. Taokuan Year 30 it was renamed to Shientsaiwung. Until Tacheng Year 9, it was named Kuanhsi because it had the same pronunciation as Kuanhsi in Japan. Kuanhsi has beautiful mountains and reivers and it is the best residence. In Kuanhsi, there are the most people who enjoy their longevity more than any other villages of this county. Therefore, it is known as a village of longevity.

ˇ@ˇ@Villagers here are very concerned about the maintenance of relics. The existing old houses include family Cheng, Luo, Fan and Luo from Nanshan, with numerous delicate stone carving and wooden sculptures. In addition, this village is the first one in the nation to build up recreational parks, such as Liufu Village, Golden Bird, Jinshien and Bat Cave, which accelerate the development of tourist resources in this village. After Taiwan Highway No. 3 is extended and the traffic on 2nd Highway of Northern Taiwan starts to run, the convenient traffic net makes this village become an ideal place for campus of famous university, for high-tech industrial parks and golf courses.
